Nashville, Tenn.,
Feb. 15, 2001 -- AKG Acoustics announced that Roland will use AKG condenser
microphones as the reference standard for designing the Roland COSM Microphone
Modeling software. The AKG C 3000B large-diaphragm microphone is the first
microphone to be supported under the agreement.
In their reference capacity, AKG microphones will serve as the standard in developing Roland's COSM Microphone Modeling software, which allows users to model the characteristics of a variety of microphones. According to Roland, using a reference standard ensures that the resulting recordings will accurately represent the sound characteristics of the modeled microphones.
The AKG C 3000B will be the first microphone to be supported by the new software, with other models to follow. With the C 3000B feature currently available with the VS-2480 Digital Studio Workstation, the AKG reference standard will be part of future software upgrades for Roland's additional V-Studio and V-Mixing products.
