Summit Audio introduces the TD-100 Tube Direct Box and Instrument Preamplifier

Watsonville, Calif., Feb. 16, 2001 -- Summit Audio, a world leader in high-quality professional audio equipment, introduces a new product for the live sound and recording markets, the TD-100 Tube Direct Box and Instrument Preamplifier.

The TD-100 is a great new tool for engineers,” says Paul M. Grove, Sales and Marketing Manager for Summit Audio. “We have paid close attention to detail with the TD-100 and have given it some really cool features. We are looking to make it the most versatile and best sounding DI in the business.

The TD-100 is not like most direct boxes. This DI can also be used as an instrument preamplifier, running signals into either mic or line level inputs. Adjust the gain to insert a musical instrument like bass or keyboard directly into the recording device or a mic preamp through either XLR or balanced ¼” TRS outputs. This high output device will also drive 600 ohm headphones so the TD-100 can be used as a practice amp for bassists and guitarists. Other features include phase reversal, ground lift, level and peak hold LEDs, and a “loading” knob which controls the input impedance. The loading control is a unique feature which gives great tone control and allows for perfect matching between the input of the TD-100 and the output of the musical instrument. The 12AX7A/ECC83 vacuum tube gives the TD-100 that Summit Audio warmth. The TD-100 also features an internal power supply and is expected to ship before March 1 st , 2001.
