Watsonville, Calif.,
Feb. 16, 2001 -- Summit Audio, a world leader in high-quality professional
audio equipment, introduces a new product for the live sound and recording
markets, the TLA-50 Tube Leveling Amp.
Says Paul M. Grove, sales and marketing of Summit Audio. “After
16 years of success with the TLA-100A, we’ve decided to bring the
technology to the new millennium. The TLA-50 brings that great Summit
Audio sound to new markets. ”
Similar to the venerable TLA-100A Tube Leveling Amplifier, the TLA-50
uses the same simple, intuitive interface with a VU meter framed by a
continuously variable gain knob on the left and gain reduction knob on
the right. Attack and release can be switched between fast, medium and
slow, and metering is for output level or gain reduction. Two TLA-50’s
can also be linked for stereo operation and the side chain can be accessed
via the back panel. The back panel also features Neutrik® connectors with
both XLR and ¼ balanced TRS inputs and outputs which will automatically
match levels, so the TLA-50 can be used as a “bump box” to
easily interface between –10dB and +4dB devices. When in bypass,
audio passing through the TLA-50 also passes through the 12AX7A/ECC83
vacuum tube, so this device is a perfect “warming” device
to give that warm Summit Audio sound with or without compression. This
½ rack space device has an internal power supply and is expected to ship
by March 1st, 2001.
Summit Audio, established in 1979, manufactures tube and solid state equipment
for the recording, post production, broadcast and live sound industries.
