Pro Tools 6.0 Released
DALY CITY, Calif. (Feb. 03, 2003) --
The long-awaited release of Pro Tools 6.0 was announced today by Digidesign, with Mac OS X compatibility at the top of the features list for many users. Digidesign's upgrade price for version 6.0 is $75 for Pro Tools LE (Mbox, Digi 001 and Audiomedia III/ToolBox), or $195 for Pro Tools TDM systems (Pro Tools|HD, Pro Tools|24 MIX, Pro Tools|24). Windows XP support of the new features in Pro Tools 6, and OS X compatibility with AVoption|XL, Unity, and MediaManager are scheduled for mid-2003.
The release also includes a new DigiBase file management utility, enhanced MIDI functionality (including high-resolution groove templates), additional Beat Detective features, new Import Session options, plug-in functionality enhancements, and MachineControl additions.
