Dan Richards Is AES Panelist

Dan Richards, engineer/producer of The Listening Sessions and contributing editor to DigitalProSound.com, will participate in a panel discussion at the 115th AES Convention in New York City, October 11th, 2003, 3:30pm - 5:00pm.The Tutorial Seminar, "All About Microphone Preamplifiers", will be chaired by John La Grou of Millennia Media. According to the panel description from the AES website, "Microphone preamplifiers have become a critical component in both the live and recording worlds. Few audio products have a wider cost spread with such similar specifications.
"This seminar addresses key issues in microphone preamplifier design, selection, and use. A few of the issues to be reviewed are: The use of transformers, self-noise, impedance, distortion and perceived sonic differences. Plenty of Q/A time will be available."
