Alexander Wilson Studios has released AWS Guitar Tuner 1.2, an update to its freeware program for Mac OS X.

The update adds support for eight common alternative tunings, including open G, open D, open A, open E, E minor, drop D, double drop D, and halfstep down. Nonstandard tuning has been the number one feature request since the release of version 1.0 in February.

Other enhancements in this version include a "piano" voice and an individual note player (one full octave from A to G#). AWS Guitar Tuner 1.2 requires Mac OS X 10.1 or later and is available as an immediate download from Alexander Wilson Studios.
