Veteran One of the recording industry top audio engineers and sound designer Aaron Keanes has joined Raleigh-based Blazing Music + Sound, one of the Southeast’s fastest growing music and audio facilities.

Keane, a 15-year veteran whose experience ranges from major record label recording and live concert production to mixing and post-production of films, television shows and national advertising spots, represents the most recent in a series of top talent hires by Blazing Music + Sound.

At 17, Keane began his career as an assistant engineer for a number of studios. He toured Europe and the U.S. with an indie label band during the 1990s before returning to the studio, honing his skills with such producers as Mitchell Froom and Eddie Kramer. He recorded artists Shawn Colvin and Suzanne Vega before moving on to become staff engineer at The Cutting Room, where he engineered and played bass on hip hop album projects including Mos Def’s Black on Both Sides and Pharcyde’s Labcabincalifornia.

In 1999 Keane launched Jarvis, a world-class studio in downtown New York. He operated as chief engineer and produced development projects for the company. Recently Keane has done audio post-production and mixing on commercials for Kill Bill, Cold Mountain, Gangs of New York and Chicago. Other television work includes sound design and mixing for MTV/Nike’s Ball or Fall, and a live studio show with R.E.M for the A&E network.

In his spare time he produces albums and makes instrumental music for independent film and media projects.

Blazing Music + Sound, a division of Trailblazer Studios, currently serves clients including Sony Ericsson, IBM, UNC-TV, Glaxo Smith Kline, McKinney + Silver(Audi/Travelocity/Lands’End/NASDAQ), Rockett Burkhead & Winslow, Bilingual Communications and NC State University.  The studio provides all aspects of sound production, including original music composition, voice-over recording, and sound design.
