The VADIS 880 is an audio/media platform for mixing console and control surface manufacturers serving the audio recording, multimedia, sound reinforcement, and broadcast industries. The VADIS 880 platform provides an efficient approach to audio routing, fiber optic distribution, format conversion, including a range of DSP functions and machine control. Multiple control locations can share sources, area wide logic control, signal routing, splitting and more. Applications for the VADIS 880 include music studio recording, feature film score mixing, sound reinforcement within concert venues, television and radio studios, satellite television networks, and audio networks for public address systems. Klotz will also be showing its VADIS DC II production mixing console at AES this year. With the VADIS DC II's open architecture, customers will be able to build any requested surface, combined with the most-requested features. The modular VADIS surface is also available as split-console. Consoles connected to the VADIS 880 platform create a highly flexible and powerful mixing system. The new PC based X4P provides a secure private network (SPN) via the Internet to distribute audio signals as well as graphics or video images. Any X4P Network subscriber can access media data stored on servers in an SPN. Audio and multimedia contents are coded with MPEG-4/AAC algorithms and stored on servers, ready for download from authorized users. The XP4 NETWORK scrambles the signal, enabling pre-listening at lower quality levels and ensuring secure transmission through the Internet. Producers can always track the distribution chain, since their program receives a unique watermark identifying the producer and the receiver at all times. As audio data is stored on a server, the producer can easily send his content information from point to multi-point, and customers can also download from the server. An eight-fader version of Klotz's PARADIGM digital audio console will also be shown at AES. The PARADIGM includes voice processing and three-band EQ on all mic inputs; Sample Rate Converters on all digital line inputs; machine control on all line inputs; mode, pan and phase reverse on all inputs; six faders with A/B switching and two faders with analog/digital six-source selectors. The LCD flat panel screen displays a large time of day clock, event timer and intuitive, central control for console set up. The PARADIGM accepts 24 sources and has PGM, AUX, TEL1, TEL2, and cue outputs. Headphone, studio and control room monitor outputs with source selectors are standard. Klotz Digital AG is the architect of Vadis, an open audio-media platform. Vadis technology creates the infrastructure for interactive broadcasting, production and public address systems. Klotz manufactures a variety of control surfaces for Vadis and offers Vadis Partner members the freedom to manufacture control surfaces and develop serial interfaces particular to their markets and applications.
