Risscov, Denmark, November 20, 2000 -- TC Electronic announces the upcoming release of its new AES-8 digital expansion card for System 6000. AES-8 expands the Audio Mainframe to a maximum 16 AES/EBU Inputs and Outputs, all running at sample rates up to 96kHz. "This is a big upgrade for digital studios", said International Marketing Manager, Stephan Israel. "You can now freely route 16 digital ins and outs to take full advantage of the Mainframe's powerful multi-channel DSP engines. Two stereo AD-DA cards can also be installed in the same audio frame bringing the total to 20 I/Os, with any 16 Inputs and 20 Outputs active simultaneously."

AES-8 will have a retail list price ex. VAT of: £ 1365,- / DM 3.695,- / US$1,995. Existing System 6000 owners can retrofit the AES-8 I/O card in the Mainframe.

"This is a valuable product for the 5.1 digital surround environment", continues Stephan, "for along with top quality 5.1 Reverb, you also get 5.1 Room Simulation, 8-channel Pitch, and numerous stereo algorithms on the same platform".

SP-1 Joystick Now Available
TC Electronic is now shipping the new SP-1 Surround Panner Joystick for the System 6000 - a new external hardware multi-channel control device for the popular surround and multi-engine signal processing mainframe. The SP-1 is designed to compliment TC's newest and future generations of interactive multi-channel algorithms and parameters as an option to the existing virtual joystick on the System 6000's ICON touch screen remote control surface. A new page of general parameters for the SP-1 is now provided in the latest System 6000 operating system release.

The SP-1 Surround Panner Joystick features Learn and Grab program modes and in addition to the joystick, it is a general purpose device which is capable of controlling features and parameters within several System 6000 algorithms. It offers cascading possibilities of up to eight joysticks with control over up to eight simultaneous channels. The SP-1 is connected via its MIDI I/O to the mainframe with later connections to the System 6000 CPU chassis directly.
