Aardvark Introduces the New Direct Pro LX6
  Ann Arbor, Mich., October 31, 2000 - - Aardvark, a leader in professional studio synchronization products and computer hard disk recording interfaces, continued to build upon its history of innovation by announcing several new products at this year's AES 2000 show in Los Angeles.

The Direct Pro LX6 ($499 List) is one of the latest additions to the new Direct Pro Series, Aardvark's line of all-in-one professional hard disk recording interfaces, which began with the popular Direct Pro 24/96. The LX6 is a professional 4 in / 6 out, 24 bit, 96 kHz audio interface with a powerful DSP that replaces the need for outboard effects and outboard mixers.

The LX6's DSP effects allow for monitoring with effects while recording without any latency, similar to monitoring with outboard effects processors. Integrated within the powerful DSP mixing software, the DSP effects provide a real-time, high-quality recording environment that rivals the real-time performance of outboard compressors, 3-Band EQs, reverb units and outboard mixers.

The DSP powered LX6 Control Panel mixer software provides many of the features of an automated digital mixer. It includes a Drag-n-Drop digital patch bay, digital peak metering, VU meters, Record FX switch and Presets for snapshot recall of any setting on the entire Control Panel mixer. The LX6's superior sound quality comes from it's low jitter clock, shielded 24 bit/96 kHz converters and uniquely shielded PCI card, all of which are specifically designed to keep out computer noise.

The front panel of the LX6 features (4) balanced ¼" analog inputs and a convenient headphone jack with output level knob for easy monitoring while tracking, overdubbing or mixing. The Rear panel has (4) balanced ¼" analog outputs, (2) unbalanced RCA outputs as well as MIDI I/O to provide seamless audio and MIDI integration between hardware and software. Digital S/PDIF I/O on the LX6 host card allows for true 24 bit stereo digital transfers in and out of the computer.

The LX6 is $499 US LIST and will be shipping in November 2000.
