Midiman Unveils Highly-Anticipated Audio and MIDI Devices at AES 2000

  Arcadia, Calif., October 3, 2000 -- Midiman Inc, a world leader in MIDI and digital audio products proudly announced several new products at this year’s AES 2000 show. M-Audio, Midiman’s digital audio division, showed several new entries in their popular Delta soundcard line, including the Omni Studio and the Audiophile 2496.

The Omni Studio is the first complete desktop recording solution compatible with all computer platforms and software applications, designed to streamline not only the desktop itself but the very process of recording on the computer. Features include: full 24 bit 96kHz operation, 2 critically-acclaimed DMP2 mic preamps* with inserts, 2 line ins, 4 stereo aux ins, an FX send and stereo return, record and mix outs, 2 headphone outs, 4 direct outs, S/PDIF i/o for digital transfers and mastering, and a multitude of routing/mixing possibilities. The Omni i/o is also available separately as a front end to any Delta 44 or Delta 66 soundcard.

The Audiophile 2496 is the most affordable card of the Delta soundcard line, with applications in digital multitrack recording, digital mastering, LP/cassette-to-CD transfers, high-fidelity MP3 and internet audio playback, and computer-based home theatre. With software support, the Audiophile 2496 supports Dolby Digital AC3 over S/PDIF to external decoders. The Audiophile 2496 features analog i/o on RCA, S/PDIF i/o, and MIDI i/o. Like the rest of the Delta soundcard line, it features full 24/96 operation and comprehensive driver support. M-Audio also announced the Audiosport4, the first in its line of USB audio devices. The Audiosport4 delivers 4 in/4out operation at 24 bits, balanced or unbalanced TRS connectors, and direct monitoring of inputs. The Audiosport4 also connects to the Omni i/o, delivering the most flexible and professional USB audio interface on the market today.

Midiman announced shipping status of the eagerly-awaited USB Midisport 8x8/s. The 8x8/s offers USB and serial connection for Mac and PC, full SMPTE operation, standalone patchbay mode, MIDI cable tester, and the most reliable drivers available from any manufacturer.
