Sony Announces "Baby Oxford" Digital Console is Now Shipping

 

New York, NY, October 4, 2000 -- Sony announced at the recent AES Convention in Los Angeles, that they are now shipping the DMX-R100 digital mixing console. A project studio sized console, smaller than the now well-known Sony Oxford, the R100 has been dubbed the "Baby Oxford."

The DMX-R100 is a high-quality digital audio mixer designed for professional recording studio and audio-post production applications and can interface with a variety of professional digital audio recorders with the installation of optional I/O cards. Incorporating an ergonomic user interface, professional automation, full 5.1 surround capability and machine control, the DMX-R100 can efficiently fulfill most production requirements. The R100 starts at around $25,000.

This allows intuitive access to various functions, including input trim, bus assigns, delay, EQ, dynamics and aux buses.
  • Machine control interface
  • The DMX-R100 provides transport control for up to six machines. This includes two 9-pin control ports, plus support of MMC (MIDI Machine Control).
  • External reference inputs and built-in LTC generator/ reader
  • External word clock and video reference input capabilities allow the R100 to easily manage audio- post production applications. The mixer can generate LTC (Longitudinal Time Code) output and provide master time code output, or alternatively accept an external time code input.
  • Complete 5.1 surround capability
  • Provides touch surround panning (on the SVGA touch screen) with built-in surround monitoring.
