Cardiff, UK, October
25, 2000 -- Soundscape Digital Technology is now shipping the iBox 2-Mic
Stereo Mic/Headphone/Line 24 bit AD/DA converter. This unit is the latest
addition to the versatile range of Soundscape iBox AD/DA and digital interfaces,
all of which feature TDIF connections for full compatibility with any
equipment providing a TDIF-1 compatible 8 channel digital port.
The rear panel sports stereo XLR balanced line level inputs and outputs, with adjustable levels up to a maximum +24dBU, for full compatibility with professional studio and broadcast equipment. The AD and DA Converters are 24 bit from Crystal Semiconductor and as for other iBox interfaces, there are two TDIF connectors, allowing up to four iBox 2-Mic units to be cascaded on one 8 channel TDIF port. This allows a truely flexible 'building block' approach to interfacing, allowing a combination of different types of Soundscape iBoxes to provide the exact I/O configuration required. For instance, two iBox 2-Mic units can be combined with two Soundscape iBox 2-Line units or with one iBox 4-AES (AES/EBU) and these can be mounted side by side using the optional iBox-Rack 19" 1U rack mounting bracket. Soundscape Mixtreme PCI cards and R.Ed DAWs feature multiple TDIF ports and when combined with the iBox 2-Mic units, there's no need for an external mixing console, as real-time mixing and high quality DSP effects processing are major features of Soundscape systems. Full Specifications:
4 x iBox 2-Mic units
may be cascaded to provide 8 mono channels (4 stereo) in/out with 8 microphone
inputs from one TDIF port or they may be combined with other iBox interfaces
on the same TDIF port. (Soundscape Mixtreme has 2 x TDIF ports, Soundscape
R.Ed has 3 TDIF ports).
