19, 2000 -- Midiman, a worldwide leader in MIDI interface technology,
is now shipping the MIDISPORT 8x8/s, flagship of the MIDISPORT line of
USB interfaces. An 8 in/ 8 out MIDI Interface utilizing the high bandwidth,
speed and channel capacity of USB, the MIDISPORT 8x8/s may also be connected
to the "legacy" serial ports of older computers. It is compatible
with both PC and Apple computers, has full SMPTE implementation, and multiple
units may be used simultaneously. The MIDISPORT 8x8/s also features a
thru mode, a cable tester, and can act as a stand-alone, software controlled
MIDI patchbay.

SMPTE Time Code
Writer/Reader
- Reads and writes
24, 25, 29.97, 30 drop or 30 non-drop frame LTC SMPTE formats.
- Any SMPTE time
write offset may be set-up via included control panel software.
- Converts LTC SMPTE
to MIDI Time Code (MTC) for syncing any MTC capable software.
- Selectable "flywheel"
that can be set to any value from 1 frame to 255 frames, or forever.
- Can perfectly
regenerate even the worst SMPTE Time Code.
- Performs "JAM"
sync in all modes.
Requirements:
WINDOWS 98 or MAC OS 8.6 (or higher) with Opcode's OMS for USB operation.
WINDOWS 95 or MAC OS 7.5.1 (or higher) with Opcode's OMS for serial port
operation.
