Requisite Audio Debuts L2M Mastering Limiter/Expander

Los Angeles, Calif., September 27, 2000 -- Requisite Audio announces the release of it¹s new L2M Mastering Limiter/Expander. This eight-tube, class-A design is handwired using no printed circuit boards for the audio path and boasts a frequency response of 10Hz to 90kHz.

5.1 & 7.1 Link Function The L2M is 5.1 surround sound compatible. Three units can be linked to provide six channels of synchronized operation (click for larger image).

Being intended for modern mastering applications, special attention has been afforded to the L2Ms audio performance and it¹s ability to link solidly for 5.1 applications. Recent installations include Capitol Mastering in Hollywood and Georgetown Masters in Nashville.

The Expansion circuit was inspired by the recent trend of program material received by mastering houses that suffers from hard, digital over-compression, which leaves the Mastering Engineering with nowhere to go. The L2M is ideally suited for this often fatal situation.

Output Level is controlled by two, 24-step precision attenuators calibrated in 1/2 dB increments. This makes it possible to capture highest possible record levels for maximum resolution with the convenience of repeatable settings.

Peak Reduction/Expansion, Expansion Range and Response Curve are each adjusted by continuously variable controls. Requisite Audio President, Danny McKinney describes the Response Curve as useful in providing extra fullness and punch without the "pillowy boom" of a conventional bass control.

Front panel switches include: Bypass, 10:1 or 3:1 Ratio select, Limit/Expand select, 5.1 Link, VU output level or Peak Reduction meter select and Power Off/On.

The suggested U.S. retail price (SRP) for the L2M is $4,500. Requisite Audio customer information number is 818-247-2047. Additional information can be found on the internet at: www.requisiteAudio.com
