Launches the 96kHz S30D |
|||
Based on the S30 which was launched back in 1978, the new S30D supports AES /EBU digital audio signal inputs with a word length of up to 24 bits and a sampling rate of up to 100kHz. The system's DA converter has an interpolator, which increases the internal sampling rate up to eight times the original before a fourth order delta-sigma modulator. The conversion process used has a very high resilience to clock jitter, excellent linearity and automatic detection of word length and sampling rate. Digital thru allows the digital signal to be retransmitted to other S30D loudspeakers and digital equipment. A 3 way system with the Low frequencies reproduced by a 210mm woofer loaded in a 24 litre vented cabinet. The low frequency response goes all the way down to 31Hz. The mid-frequency driver is an 80mm cone driver sealed in a cast aluminum alloy housing. The high frequency driver is a proprietary ribbon tweeter with a moving mass of only 32 mg and a frequency response extending up to 50kHz. The S30D's built-in, fast, low-distortion amplifiers can produce up to 120W watts of output power and are capable of driving a stereo pair to peak output sound pressure levels of 122 dB SPL at 1m.
