March 27, 2000 - Dolby Labs has certified Minnetonka's SurCode software
encoder for Dolby Digital.
SurCode
for Dolby Digital is a licensed encoder capable of performing all modes
of Dolby Digital encoding, including 5.1 Surround Sound. SurCode accepts
up to six .wav or .aiff files, and generates a Dolby .ac3 file.
The Dolby encoded files can be used in authoring DVD Video or other
formats that use the Dolby Digital standard. SurCode for Dolby Digital
is now shipping. The retail price is $995.
