Internet TapeDeck's leading features include simultaneous playback and recording of up to eight tracks, punch-in/punch-out capability and support for industry standard DirectX plug-in effects. Internet TapeDeck offers an integrated three-band equalizer on each track and ships with a free recordLab Reverb DirectX Plug-in powered by technology from 3Com Corporation. Users can drag and drop virtually any type of audio file onto the control surface of Internet TapeDeck, such as an MP3 or stereo wave file, to create two tracks of digital audio that they can play along and record with. Support for multi-channel sound cards, such as those offered by GadgetLabs or MidiMan, enable users to simultaneously record multiple tracks. Internet TapeDeck currently outputs files in standard WAV formats for burning to CD or Microsoft Windows Media audio format for high quality Internet streaming audio.

"When used in conjunction with the recordLab.com site, Internet TapeDeck is much more than just a software replacement for hardware-based recorders", said recordLab Corporation President and CEO Larry D. Foster. "Clicking on the Get Advice icon immediately accesses hundreds of articles or streaming media segments from recordLab's renown producers, engineers and songwriters that serve to inform, involve and inspire musicians as they pursue their own musical journey. Internet TapeDeck acts as both a production and educational tool for the novice home recordist while allowing musicians with more recording experience to easily capture and shape their musical ideas anywhere, anytime."

On the horizon is a set of audio effect plug-ins for Internet TapeDeck that allows users to enhance and shape the final sound of their recordings. Leveraging the technology licensed from 3Com Corporation, users will be able to download a number of pro audio-quality audio effects such as echo, compression, multi-band EQ, chorus, phaser and harmonizer. Future iterations of Internet TapeDeck will closely integrate content found on the recordLab.com site which will be formatted for delivery inside the Internet TapeDeck interface. recordLab also plans to expand its content offerings to include recording tutorials and premium, master classes that take full advantage of the Companies music technology and innovative web-based content delivery system.
